Visiting the Media Center

Student hours are from 8:20 a.m. through 3:10 p.m.
Full Hours are 8:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m.

Classes have scheduled times to visit and students are welcome to visit for book checkout at anytime they are excused from class.  Coming individually or with a small group, students will need their Library Pass from their classroom. 

Our Curiosity Corner is a open for students based on their classroom schedule. Students visiting for checkout may visit the curiosity corner if time has been permitted by their teacher. 

Checking Out

Kindergarten and First Grade students check out one book at a time. 

Second Grade through 5th Grade students can check out 2 books at a time. 

Students are able to keep books for 2 weeks, but are also welcome to exchange before the end of the 2 weeks. 

Books that are lost or have been damaged beyond our repair will be billed to parents at the rate of $5.00 if paperback and $15.00 if hardcover.  Thank you for helping your student find a secure place at home to keep their books. 

GCPS students are automatically enrolled in the Branch Out Program, giving them access to checkout books from the Gwinnett County Public Library. 

Students will use their student ID number as the user number and their birthdate (month/year ex: 0724 for July 24th).  Although our home branch assigned is the Dacula Branch, their access is good at any branch.  For more information, click here.  

The GCPS Book Mobile Program is a year round program that supports the mission of getting books into the hands of kids!  

We are fortunate to have the Book Mobile visit our school each year for our students to choose new books to keep.  During the summer, the Book Mobiles (2 buses+ a Van) operates as a mobile library.
